and VAA Election of Officers

The May 2007 meeting of the Vicksburg Art Association is scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 7:30 pm in the historic Old Constitution Firehouse on the corner of Main and Openwood in Downtown Vicksburg.

The May program will feature Bess Averett, the director of the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation (SCHF) and art programs at SCHF for children. Ms. Averett will discuss the River Kids After School Program, Kidzart, the Children’s Show Choir and other free camps, workshops and programs that encourage children from the 1^st through 6^th grade to discover and develop their creative talents. She will bring some of their paintings, collages, and drawings to showcase their talents. After the program, the members of the Vicksburg Art Association will elect new officers for the coming year, briefly review the past year’s activities, and conduct other business as necessary.
