Riverfront Art Park
The Art Park - January 25, 2005
The City of Vicksburg has asked the Vicksburg Art Association to adopt the new Art Park. The photo shows the "blank canvas" of the park as it is being constructed. We are hoping to make the park a "hands on" community project created and shaped by many of our citizens. We have some concepts on the table but nothing is carved in stone yet. The creation of this Art Park can utilize the talents of our young people under the guidance of local artists and teachers. It is a project that may take years, but I believe the community will begin enjoying this project almost immediately.
may I add, not just young people! it could be a
multi-generational project. there are lots of talented seniors and not-so-senior as well . overall organization of many volunteers could be difficult but doable. any start date yet?
this is such a great project, and it will put Vicksburg on the map as a place that shows off its riverfront to
good advantage.
