The January meeting of the Vicksburg Art Association was held Tuesday, January 14, 2003, at 7:30 pm at All Saints School on Confederate Avenue.
The featured artist for this meeting was Cassie Earhart Dickson. Cassie is a traditional pattern weaver who specializes in 19th century coverlets. Cassie is also a spinner and natural dyer who enjoys raising silk worms, processing silk cocoons to cloth and processing flax from seed to linen.
She is a member of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi and the Southern Highland Craft Guild. Her photo was featured in an article about the Southern Highland Craft Guild in the Fall 2002 edition of the magazine 'Smoky Mountain.'
