October meeting spotlights Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi.

The Vicksburg Art Association will hold the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, October 8th, 7:30 pm, at the old Constitution Firehouse on Openwood Street.

This month's featured speaker is Kit Davis, Executive Director of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi. She will be speaking about how to become a member of the Guild and current events that are happening for the Guild. She is bringing with her actual works of some of the members.

She will also be speaking about the new state-of-the-art building that is planned for a site in Ridgeland near the Natchez Trace



Fall Show Details

The Vicksburg Art Association is hosting its twenty-second
Annual Mississippi Exhibition October 26-October 30, 2002. All artists at least 18 years old who are VAA members or residents of Mississippi are invited to participate.

Best-in-Show will be awarded $500. Ribbons will be awarded to 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place, and
Honorable Mentions in each category according to the discretion of the judge.

Purchase awards are being pledged by individuals, businesses and organizations in the community.
Approximately 20 were awarded last year.
